When exactly is Mother's Day?
Mother’s Day in the United States — and in dozens of other countries — falls on the second Sunday of May. It is a day to honor mothers with flowers, cards, breakfast in bed and family visits.
The modern holiday was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908; ironically, she later campaigned against the commercialization of the day she founded. The UK celebrates Mothering Sunday earlier, three weeks before Easter.
